Earlier this month, Ledgemont Country Club hosted its second annual Day of Thanks golf tournament, which raised $15,000 for local veterans. The tournament was created by Ledgemont member Buddy Trinkle and his friend Sharon Teich whose son, Bernie, was injured by a roadside bomb explosion in Iraq.
On August 9th, Angela Pena and the HUMOR FOR HEROES team once again hosted local military members, Wounded Warriors and San Antonio residents for a night filled with laughs, patriotism, and even more laughs! They also invited WISH for OUR HEROES back as the featured charity and beneficiary of their fundraising efforts.
One small organization is making a big difference for military families at Fort Hood and across the country. After granting more than 1,000 wishes in less than three years, Wish For Our Heroes is hoping to make a names for itself in Central Texas.

Prior to the Justin Moore and The Band Perry taking the stage at the Brickyard 400 (Indianapolis, IN), WISH for OUR HEROES honored a wounded soldier by presenting tickets to today’s race, then he, in turn honored several of his brothers (and sisters) in arms by presenting tickets to other military members.
