Wish For Our Heroes is proud to partner with MacTEACH, a program based out of MacArthur High School in San Antonio.
At the core of MacTEACH is the fundamental belief that every student matters, that all persons matter. They strive to assist where they can academically, socially, and from the humanitarian perspective. The MacTEACH Tutoring and Outreach Program assists in the educational and emotional welfare of on-campus students and area at-risk students from grades K-12. As a service program. MacTEACH enthusiastically embraces humanitarian and outreach efforts within the community and communities far beyond the campus.
The MacTEACH PTSD Ambassadors Project
The MacTEACH PTSD Ambassadors Project serves and advocates for veterans and military families suffering from PTSD related issues. This includes educating their own students and the public as to the daily suicide crisis facing veterans and active duty military. Students involved with MacTEACH begin to learn and understand the many facets associated with the destructiveness of PTSD, and create support avenues for veterans suffering. The Ambassadors, in association with Wish For Our Heroes, hosts forums for the purpose of advocacy and action.
Our next forum is slated for early 2019. Look for more details coming in the next few months!
