Military life is difficult – men and women selflessly serve our nation, while working for little pay, putting their lives on the line, and dealing with the secondary affects that can tear families apart. WISH for OUR HEROES (W4OH) is a national 501(c)(3), dedicated to providing resources to the “average” active-duty military member, in order to make their deployments a little easier, and to improve the quality of their family lives while home or during deployment.
The priority is to always grant basic needs or emergencies first – anything from putting food on the table to assisting with car repairs, home repairs, baby supplies, clothing, etc. When basic needs are met, W4OH also enjoys providing fun things like sending the troops to athletic events, sending them on vacation to get re-acquainted after deployments, meeting celebrities and more. “Your assistance has greatly eased the financial burden for my children and me…organizations such as Wish For Our Heroes, that are willing to help the brave men and women in their time of need, are indispensable, and frankly, we could not do what we do without the support of people like yourselves.”
“I wish we could say something else besides thank you to let you know how much we appreciate all you have done for us. Just the way you treated us alone was a help. I pray that one day soon we are in a better place and can help your organization in some way, because what you do is wonderful.”
“You guys have really been our angels and we are so thankful.”
“Nobody knows what we go through sometimes in our personal lives, and we are often too proud to share these things with others. I am so grateful to your organization and to my Chain of Command for this (assistance).”
“Throughout my life, I have always admired the brave men and women who serve in the U.S. Military. I first had the opportunity to work with WISH for OUR HEROES to grant a wish in August 2011, and it was an unbelievable experience. I was also recently honored to grant the organization’s 1000th wish, and experience the impact these wishes make in people’s lives. I’m excited to help grant many more wishes in the future!”
“Becoming involved in WISH for OUR HEROES has really opened my eyes to the sacrifices our military members make. I’m surrounded by superstars every day, but our work on the court does not compare to the obstacles overcome by those in our military. They truly are heroes.”
