11 yr-old, Madison, of Topeka, has cystic fibrosis and is in need of a lung transplant. This sweet and very brave little girl is the daughter of two veteran National Guard soldiers, and spends her days attached to oxygen doing things a typical 11-year-old girl does, like watching televison, swimming and coloring with her younger brother Keegan. While awaiting a timeframe for her lung transplant, she expressed a wish to meet The University of Kansas basketball coach, Bill Self. Family friend, Gold Star Wife Melissa Jarboe, contacted Wish For Our Heroes Inc. to see if we could assist in making Madison’s wish come true, and today we are proud to share this photo of a very happy Madison, who was able to meet both Bill Self and the entire Kansas Men’s Basketball team!
Thank you to Bill Self and his staff for making this wish come true! For more information on Madison’s story, click here:http://cjonline.com/news/2012-06-09/11-year-old-topeka-girl-needs-double-lung-transplant
