A big salute to Chicks On The Right for not only attending our HILLacious Holiday Bash with George Hill last night, but for writing this incredible article. Props and many thanks to you for your support of Wish For Our Heroes Inc. and our troops. THANK YOU!!

Mock and I were invited to a Hill’acious Holiday Bash in downtown Indy last night. It was our first time getting involved with the folks at Wish For Our Heroes, which is undoubtedly my new favorite charity, y’all. ALL of the contributions they receive go to military families in need. The people involved are all volunteers with day jobs, selflessly giving their time and energy and passion to the cause. In other words, there’s not some CEO making a $475,000 salary in this ACTUALLY CHARITABLE organization. And I DIG that beyond words. You have no idea.
Here’s us doing our obligatory start-of-the-night bathroom shots, because we’re busy working Moms who don’t get a chance to dress up very often, so we are dorks when we do, and yeah – this is how we roll:
When we walked in, we were greeted by one of the top-dogs at the charity, Erich, who so nonchalantly conversed with us about his time in Iraq while simultaneously giving us more information about the charity and his involvement. It turns out that even badasses can get down with the Chicks in a teapot pose:
YES.
Everyone involved in last night’s event was a volunteer – down to the gorgeous women who were serving us cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. I know this, because I asked one of those women if she was affiliated with a company that provided hostessing and servers and whatnot. To which she replied, “No, I was raised in a military family, and anytime these guys ask me to help out with Wish For Our Heroes, I jump at the chance. It’s the least I can do.”
LOVE.
We Chicks would never turn down an opportunity to give back to those who selflessly serve our country, and we also don’t turn down chances to be hanging out with men in military uniforms. Duh. Behold the adorableness of this soldier, who overheard Mock saying that she was still hungry (the food was starting to dwindle at that point of the evening), and like the selfless soldier he is, went into the kitchen himself and scored some quesadillas for Mock. If you’re reading this, Soldier-Man, we want to adopt you and put you in our respective pockets. You are sheer awesomeness. Just FYI:
I encourage you all to check out their website above, as well as like their Facebook page, to really see all the amazingly awesome things they do for military families. Mock and I were very proud to be a part of such a special evening for such a wonderful cause, and we can’t wait to be part of future events with them.
Have you hugged your service men and women today? If not, DO IT.
That’s an order.
And to all the military folks out there? A hearty Chicks saaaaaaaaaaaaalute! God bless you and yours. Always.
