I’m sure that by now you’re all of the aware of the horrible flooding situation at Fort Leonard Wood, MO, and the surrounding St. Robert area. Flooding has devastated the area, and it really hits home because several members of our W4OH team are stationed at Fort Leonard Wood.
First, a 4-year old boy and his mother were both killed in the flooding. Their family is active-duty.
Marcy Barlow is one of our longest tenured W4OH volunteers. She works at the middle school in St. Robert and is in charge of a program called ‘Snack-In-A-Pack’, which is a charitable program to feed needy children after school hours (on weekends, etc). She has dedicated an immense amount of time fundraising and buying food for this program. Every bit of it was destroyed in the floods.
Isabel Lambert, who has been helping organize our MotoGP Ride for the past 2-3 months is also stationed at Fort Leonard Wood.
