On Saturday, December 14th, Indiana Pacers guard, George Hill and Wish for Our Heroes joined forces once again at the 3rd Annual “HILL”acious Holiday Bash, which was held this year at the Lucas Oil Estate in Carmel, thanks to the generosity of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Lucas. The event was put together to raise awareness (and funds) for local military families during the holidays. Last year, Wish for Our Heroes we surprised two military families at the event with loads of presents for their children. This year – several families were surprised at the event, and funds raised will provide Christmas for 100 families. We were honored to have in attendance Mayor Greg Ballard, Major General R. Martin Umbarger, Coach Frank Vogel and several Pacers players and personnel, Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Lucas, among many others who came out in support of our troops.
This was an amazing event that brought people together in so many ways. Every item was donated, from the venue to the food, thanks to generous people from Kroger, Monarch Beverage and the Lucas family. With their efforts, along with all the volunteers and George Hill, Wish for Our Heroes had its largest fundraiser to date, raising over $50,000 for the troops!
