On Sunday, Nov 26, Wish for Our Heroes (W4OH) sent CPT Sean Ehlinger and his family to the Buffalo Bills vs KC Chiefs football game at Arrowhead Stadium. CPT Ehlinger is a diehard Chiefs fan and always wanted to attend a game there.
CPT Ehlinger entered the Army in 1996 and has been on two deployments to Iraq. He is currently on light duty in the Ft. Carson Warrior Transition Battalion as a nurse case manager while he receives treatments for Stage 4 cancer. His wish was to bring his family to Arrowhead Stadium so they could all enjoy a game together, but it was not financially possible due to their current circumstances.
Wish for Our Heroes was delighted to grant CPT Ehlinger’s wish and send the family of 6 to Kansas City for the Bills vs Chiefs game. The Adam’s Mark Hotel (www.AdamsMarkKC.com) graciously put the family up for two nights, and W4OH set up a guided tour of Arrowhead Stadium. The family was even treated to a surprise visit during the game from KC Wolf, the Chief’s mascot, who presented them with a signed football. CPT Ehlinger and his family had a wonderful time and want to try to make this an annual tradition!
Wish for Our Heroes wants to give a special thank you to Deborah Evans at the Adams’s Mark Hotel and Christian Senecal from the Kansas City Chiefs Community Outreach office. Granting this wish was a team effort and their contributions were invaluable.
