Nadia is the wife of a Navy E6 who has been stationed in Hawaii for the past 3 years. She currently resides in Jacksonville with her two sons — one with Autism and one with Aspergers — which prevents them from moving to Hawaii.
Having lost her job, Nadia and the family fell behind on bills and were struggling to make ends meet. Luckily, she found a replacement job but needed assistance with covering a car payment, housing expenses, as well as funds for food and household items for the children until the new position started.
We were able to grant Nadia with a $1,142 to cover her housing and car expenses. Additionally, we provided the family with a $100 gift card to Wal-Mart to assist with food and household items, which Wal-Mart generously matched with another $100 gift card. Lastly, we put the family in touch with the Mandarin Food Bank who was able to supply the family with food as well as school supplies for the children.
