Demetrice is an Active Duty HT1 based in Guam. Because he is based so far away and has limited time off, Demetrice has not been home since the birth of his son this past January. Back at home in Jacksonville, Demetrice’s wife, Kela who is a disabled veteran, cares for their two young children full time. With the holidays coming up and added expenses for the newborn, the family requested support from Wish for Our Heroes to bring their family together for the holidays and for their son’s first birthday.
Wish Support
We were honored to be able to help this family reconnect through the purchase of airfare from Guam to Jacksonville. In addition, we provided a new car seat and stroller for their growing son so the family could focus on covering other expenses. Thanks to the kind support of our donors, we were able to cover the entire cost which totaled $1.714.
“My husband and I are so excited he will be coming home for New Years and baby Graceson is going to have a bit more room to do some growing in his new car seat and stroller! …We have never been treated so kindly with such a big gift and it puts us in the holiday spirit…Wish for Our Heroes is more than a wish, it’s the hands and feet and hearts of miracle workers.”
