We are pleased to announce Wish for Our Heroes has granted another wish for a deserving military family. Mark is an active US Army CO-ADOS reservist in Ft. Pickett, Virginia who needed assistance with a vehicle repair after dealing with an endless cycle of other vehicle issues that drained the family’s finances.
“When our car broke down without the means for us to pay for the repairs, it left us feeling defeated and with many uncertainties. We knew that one of the primary reasons Mark needed our car was to fulfill his military duties. We reached out to many organizations explaining our financial burden. Wish For Our Heroes corresponded tirelessly and diligently with the business servicing our vehicle to get our car repaired. Thanks to the financial support given through Wish For Our Heroes Mark is not only able to fulfill his military assignments but we can go into this holiday season knowing we will have a reliable way to travel and spend time with our friends and family. We will always remember how Wish For Our Heroes granted our wish and one of our greatest prayers was answered through Wish For Our Heroes during our time of need.”
– Marcia
Because of the continuous car problems, it has been very challenging for the couple to save any money, forcing them to live paycheck to paycheck.
To ensure Mark and his wife, Marcia, would be able to continue to commute to work and medical appointments after being injured while stationed in Iraq, they reached out to Wish for Our Heroes for help.
The Wish for Our Heroes National Chapter granted the family $3,250 toward a used motor. In addition, the American Legion provided $300 to assist with repairs, and the Wish for Our Heroes Southeastern Region provided $300. In total, with the help of these organizations and the family’s contribution of $100, we were able to cover the total repair costs of $3,950.
