Jeff Wells is the President and Founder of WISH for OUR HEROES. Wells started the non-profit organization in memory of his father, 1SG Thomas G. Wells (1933-2009), a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars, as well as all active duty military heroes.
A former Army Captain and recipient of the Bronze Star, Wells was stationed at Fort Hood, TX and served tours in Korea and Baghdad with the 91st Engineer Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division. Wells has continuously witnessed the toll military life can take on those serving our nation, and has developed an organization devoted to giving back to such individuals.
Jeff began WISH for OUR HEROES with two ideas in mind:
- Ensure active-duty military members receive the basic needs they deserve, which may not be provided by the military, government, or other sources of aid.
- Ensure people who donate know exactly where their dollars are distributed.
Now with nearly 1,000 wishes granted since November of 2009, and complete transparency offered to donors, Wells is seeing those ideas through.
